The service of Sung Matins at 1100 on Sunday 12 November 2017 began with an Act of Remembrance. The Sanctuary of the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula was dressed for the occasion with a profusion of poppies, as seen in the following photographs.
The photograph below focuses on the wreath of ceramic poppies first seen in November 2014 as part of the installation "Blood swept lands and seas of red" and now held within the Tower by the Chapels Royal. Beneath the wreath can be seen a casket holding soil from Passchendaele, scene of a major battle in 1917.
The usual floral display was given a special Remembrance quality by the inclusion of British Legion poppies amongst the foliage.
