Odyssean Ensemble's Byrd CD Launch
On March 4, our Master of Music Colm Carey, and his Odyssean Ensemble, launched their début recording in the Chapel. They have recorded William Byrd’s Great Service and Colm, in his introduction to the CD, spoke about how the chapel represented the two parallel lives of Byrd - Byrd as an ardent Roman Catholic and recusant versus Byrd as a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal in the service of a Protestant Queen. The event showcased some movements from the Great Service, as well as two anthems, and the launch was well attended by many grandees from the music industry as well as friends, family and some members of our own congregation.
